I had problem a while back, all the video i played back on my computer was
super DARK, so i found my overlay settings and fixed it, I adjusted the gamma
and everything seemed to be ok until - i captured some video with windows
movie maker 2, after capture you are able to click on the video in windows
movie maker and play it, when i do this everything looks fine, the video is
bright and looks great! AS soon as I drag the video into the timeline and
play the timeline the video is SUPER dark and real nasty looking, which makes
it kind of hard to edit. If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me
know! It's extremely annoying.

Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers from the manufacturer of
the card?

Yes I have, I installed the latest drivers about a week ago, Like I said,
the video looks great until i drag it into the timeline, the video only looks
bad is when played in the timeline.

So, if you export from the timeline as a wmv or dv-avi the file is fine?

Yea it looks fine after export, so it's not really a huge problem, it just
makes it hard to edit anything, I don't really know how it's going to look
with transitions/effects until I export it, when I play it back in the
timeline it's HORRIBLE, SO dark, NO detail.
I found this on another thread, someone with the same problem, and this guy
wrote-(If you are viewing the preview window that would explain the poor
quality....Preview = Low resolution = only suitable for seeing roughly)

Maybe that's the problem? I'm starting to not like wmm@! :(
