Ok, I am running XP Pro on a P4 2.4Ghz with 1GB RAM and a Radeon 9600 256MB
AGP card and an 80GB hard drive (plenty of free space and I have defragged),
and Movie Maker 2.x. MM locks up constantly ("not responding") and I mean
constantly.

I had a 128MB Nvidea card and replaced it but things are pretty much the
same. I have tried using only pictures and small microsoft movies only and
it still locks up constantly.

My computer says I am running SP 1 yet in my installed programs it shows 4
or 5 different hotfixes (SP2) installed. I use Microsoft update yet it does
not show that SP 2 is an option to install/download. I even installed MS
Media Player 10 thinking that might help but no...

I'd like to simply reinstall MM 2.x but I cannot find the source files
anywhere on the net.

My video settings are all default, and I have tried to slow down the
hardware acceleration but that didn't help at all.

Any suggestions? If I remove

The hotfixes that are showing up as SP2 are ones released between SP1 and
SP2 that are now integrated into SP2. Because these hotfixes are still
showing in Add/Remove Programs, that would indicate that you do not yet have
SP2 installed.

MovieMaker2.1 is only available as part of the SP2 download.

If you have a broadband connection and would like to download the complete
package of SP2, it is available at:

If you would prefer it to come from WindowsUpdate, visit:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/choose.aspx

Alternatively visit Staples, CompUSA, etc where you can pick up a CD of SP2
or ask for one to be mailed to you, completely free of all charges:
