i used to have another account on my comp but the last day or so it has been
going realy slow i have tried defrag disk clean cookies cach but it still is
a slow as anything.
If i am logged off it works a treat but when they both logged on it is dead
slow.
Any help would be good

Brian,

A good way to discard unwanted files id to use Cleanup! (available as a free
download). even though it does ignore some (very few) files, it does a much
better job than Disk Cleanup (on Windows Explorer).

Next uninstall unwanted applications (but be very careful).

Next stop unwanted applications running in the background.

Next defragment the hard disk drive

This will give your computer a chance at running as fast as possible.

hi bill have tried a clean up prog the only ones i have is reg mech and
window washer but it is still the same have u any other ideas?

Brian.

If you carry out the four steps in my pervious post (see below) you will
have a computer running as fast as possible. BTW it's marginally
advantageous to do a cleanup / defrag before scanning for spyware / virus
threats if only because it will have less to do and everything will be
together and, therefore, it wont take quite so long.

If you want a step by step howto please come back.

You also need to learn how to use a delimiter correctly.

Q. Does top-posting make sense?

I guess you do have not heard of snipping seeing as you feel you need to
ask about the benefits of top posting.

This is not where I want to post, but when I tried to post a question nothing
happened, so I'm trying this route. When I try to save a picture from email
I get this message "c:\windows\system32\mshtml.hlpfile". What do I need to
do to be able to samve pictures
