at my office we bought a new computer with windows xp. the old compute
we did backups of my documents and quickbooks onto 3.5 floppy we coul
install the quickbooks on the new system but when we try to restore o
load all the info from my documents from the old system we can not
please help because the old system is gone and there is alot o
important info on these 25 disk

the CD, and make a COPY of them on the hard drive. Now
select all the files you just copied to the hard drive.
Right click the selected files and go into PROPERTIES. In
the Attributes section check both the READ-ONLY, and
HIDDEN boxes, click APPLY, then UNCHECK the boxes again.
Click APPLY. This clears the attributes of all the files
you want to use, and allows them to be used.

You will need to import the Quickbooks files, and may need
to repair them to open them. This is assuming the QB sw
is the same on each PC. ( QB 2003, etc ) If the new new
PC has a later version of QB, it wont open them and you're
screwed. Good Luck....
 
Can you look at the file names on these disks using My Computer? If
so, go Tools / Folder Options /View and uncheck the box "Hide
extensions for known file types" and post here again with details of
the file names found.
