I accidentally de-clicked the "Always ask before opening
this type of file" option. Is there any way of setting it
back?

If it is a file type listed in Folder Options> File Types, select it and
click on the Advanced button. The option that you want is close to the
bottom of the screen that will appear. To restore the prompt for open/save,
check the box next to "Confirm open after download."
