Hi. I'm new to the Movie Maker. I've been using my Nikon camera to record
videos and decided to put them together on a DVD. My camera has saved them
on my computer as a .mov file and they play in QuikTime. The Movie Maker is
telling me it cannot play these files. Is there a way to change what file
type they are, or upgrade my Movie Maker to play these files?
Thanks in advance for any help!

=================================================
Apple QuickTime .mov files are not compatible with Movie Maker.

The full retail version (not the free version) of Apple QuickTime
can convert the files...

QuickTime Pro
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/

Also...the following freeware can be used to convert the .mov
file to a more usable format:

Pazera Free MOV to AVI Converter
http://www.pazera-software.com/products/mov-to-avi-converter/
(click the Blue download button not the Red one)

After downloading...unzip and open the program...
(no installation required)

Drag/Drop one or more .mov files...

Choose an Output Directory...

Select...AVI - Video Codec - WMV version 1 (WMP 7)...

Convert...(the button is on the upper toolbar)

When the file is converted...you can edit it in Windows
Movie Maker. Just open Movie Maker and go to...File /
Import into Collections and browse to your converted file.
