i have genuine MS on my computer and this download that was somwhow loaded on
to my computer says i do not or that i may be at risk. how do i get rid of
this pop up that appears when i turn my computer on

That depends on what program is showing the popup. If it comes from
windows security center, you eitehr have to do something about it, or
configure it not to show the warning. You can for example tell it that
it should not look for virus protection as you may have an antivirus
program that it can not recognise.

If it's some kind of malware that is showing a banner, you should get
some program like AdAware, Hijack This or Spybot Search & Destroy.

Anyway, "help" is not a useful subject for a thread.

Also, questions like this should go in some operating system related
newsgroup, rather than a software development newsgroup.
