I installed Vista Ultimate on my laptop and now my Iomega external hard
drive, CNet USB port hub, my USB storage devices and my external keyboard
wont work at all. I get a message that it does not recdodnise the hardware
and all this, but is there a way around this so I can get things to work
again ??? need help quick!!!!! and does anyone know of any numbar you can
call to get assistance in vista??

Post the specifics of your laptop and you may get some help. The only thing
I can think of right now is that on a couple of my computers, the first thing
I installed was the chipset files, though someone posted that isn't necessary
and someone else posted that is the first thing to do after the Vista
installation. On one of my systems, after I installed the chipset driver,
boot up found my two dvd/cd devices and the high-speed usb ports.

Hello again! I have an Acer travelmate 8200. I got the chipset drive from the
websight but when insytaling it i got a message saying the it did not suport
this system ??

First you extracted the files to a folder. Did you try right-clicking the
setup file, select properties, check run in xp compatibility mode, click on
ok, then right-click and run as administrator.

That notebook is premium Vista ready.

Do any of the devices have their own XP drivers? If so, install them the
same way. Are the devices listed in the device manager? If so, have you
tried driver update in there?
