RC2 won't install because Windows Live One Care/Defender is incompatible. I
am using the X32 version and it stated that I have to completely uninstall
Defender before installing. Also, says current version of Windows Live One
Care is not compatible.

Can anyone help?

What's to help? You are being told to uninstall Defender and OneCare.
Windows Live OneCare beta 1.? is compatible with Vista.

Well AJR, I deleted defender and when I went to Live One Care to reinstall it
said I had to upgrade to Windows XP to install Live One Care. I cannot use
live one care with Vista. So, I am now naked without my live one care
antivirus protection that I paid for. To keep Vista on my machine it looks
like First I have to get another antivirus program ... among other things.

Yes, that is right. look in the Vista Home page. Vista is not a production
OS, so dont get mad that things dont work with it, you did not pay for Vista.
Live One Care is not compatible with Vista yet.
you can get free trial AV (PC-Cillin) for example that do work with Vista.

The current beta 1.5 of OneCare works fine with Vista and elimiates
the need for Defender as well. Uninstall OneCare and Defender in XP,
install Vista then install the OneCare beta, available here:
