I'm using Vista RC1. I can't open any attachments in Windows Mail. I also
can't save any attached files to the desktop or anywhere.

I then tried to download Live Mail. The installation starts but stops and
disappears, even if I save the downloaded set up file to the desktop. It
appears briefly then disappears.

I tried to delete a program folder. It said I needed "Administrator's
Permission".

I believe this could be the key to all issues above. It doesn't think I am
an Administrator, yet, my user account is defined as Administrator.

Any idea?

Heeeeeeeeelppppppp!

Thank you

Administrator powers in Vista are far less than in XP. Go to Control
Panel/Users a nd turn User Account Control OFF. I also turned off 'Enable
Protected Mode' in Internet Explorer but you may not agree with that. Colin

PS I raced in a Framingham bike race many years ago.

Thanks, but I still can't open an attachment in Windows Mail or download
software. HEAVY SIGH

Above the body of the message, there will be a warning that there are
pictures or files attached to the mail. Click that bar (much like what you
get when you have a pop-up in IE). That should enable links and attachments.

Hope this helps :-)

Check Tools | Options | Security and uncheck the option to prevent
attachment saving and see if that fixes that problem.
