I made a movie maker slide show a while back. I have a new laptop an I can't
open the movie. I get an error message that says - "WSWMM not a supported
file type". what can I do to copy the picture on this movie show?

the MSWMM file is a project file, not a saved movie... and it doesn't
contain copies of the pictures used to make it... you'll need to get the
source file(s) used, or a copy of the movie made from the project to get
snapshots from it.

==============================
..mswmm is your project file and
does not include the source files.
Even if you open it in Movie Maker
it will be useless until you have the
original source files.

A movie clip would have a .wmv
or .avi extension. I'm thinking you
need to re-create your project and
this time save it as a movie...

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...
