My registry is all screwed up. I do not see the classes root. Before all
this started happening I reset the permissions on the interface key (because
there were some keys in there already messed up) and now I cannot add any
users to the registry permissions..

You can not see it or can not access it?? If you can not access it you may
need to logon as an administrator and take ownership and then grant yourself
full control permissions. It is ALWAYS a good idea to backup any registry
key before attempting to modify it and backing up the System State of the
computer will also back up most if not all of the registry. You can also try
to use secedit as shown in the link below to restore default registry
permissions if you use /areas regkeys at the end of the command. --- Steve
