A software explanation for this symptom is possible too.
In that case you could prevent the automatic reboot and request
additional diagnostics using the System Properties, Startup and Recovery
dialog. (Hint: press Win-Break and switch to the Advanced tab, etc.)
Check with Event Viewer to see if any entries are being added
at the time of reboot. Also be complete in describing your observations.
Remember, your words have to substitute for what our eyes might notice.
BTW this question might probably be better handled in a newsgroup
which specializes in your OS. From your description so far it really has
nothing to do with IE and would be unlikely to be caused by IE in any case.
