I've recently started a new account on my computer
because of a few problems I was having, but I forget that
Microsoft's anti spy won't work on other accounts so now
I can't get it to work, I've tried to uninstall
Microsoft's anti spy but I keep getting errors, I think
I was supposed to uninstall it with my original account
but its too late now as I've already deleted the
account, does anyone know how to get around this?
I've tried a clean install/overwriting Microsoft anti
spy and repairing it but neither works, help!

Log into the Admin Account and try it this way :

Download Ccleaner

http://download.ccleaner.com/download123bin.asp

Then Goto Add/Remove Screen and remove MS Antispyware

Next to C:Drive>ProgramFiles> and Remove the MS
Antispyware Folder

Next Use your Search Feature for All files and folders
and delete these two files (Which are in system32)

GCCollection.dll
gcUnCompress.dll

Then Use Ccleaner and press "Run Ccleaner" & also use
the "Issues" feature to remove any other traces of MS
Antispy in the registry

Then ReInstall MS Antispy and it should now be a clean
Install and not remember your last settings

I attempted what you suggested but I was unable to use
my Search Feature , all that displayed was my search
companion so it appears to be broken, anyway I was unable
to do anything with search but I tried everything else
but was unsuccessful so unless there's a way around it, I
will keep your suggestion for when I can fix my Search
Feature ,but thanks anyway I appreciate all the help you
can give, cheers.

Try using msicuu2.exe
(http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-
7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe) to remove the
Windows Installer files for MSAS and then reinstall the
app in your currrent administrator account.

For the Search Assisant problem try following: Start >
Run, type in cmd and press Enter, type in sfc /scannow
and press Enter. This will check to see if any Windows
files are missing or corrupted. If so, you will be
prompted to put the Windows CD in the CD-ROM drive to
replace those files.

You might want to check out
http://www.infopackets.com/channels/en/windows/gazette/200
4/20040810_windows_xp_search_function_missing.htm to see
what this person has to say about fixing this problem, as
the above solution was presented there but I first heard
about it from Call for Help on G4tv.

You might also want to check out
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;319949 to see if that helps. I'd try Method 2 to see
if that fixes it first, then try Method 3.
