Unable to open an e-mail with an Attachment: when clicking open a new window
appears with the following message: " This File does not have a program
associated with it to performing this Action. Create an association in the
Folder Option Control Panel."

Now, there is an Icon in the Control Panel, but, do not know how to handle
the problem.

Thanks for any Help.

Can you see an extension for the file that is attached? The extension is
the end portion of a file name, usually a dot and 3 characters. Example:
filename.txt or filename.jpg

That extension is the clue as to what type of data the file contains. From
there you match the file up with a program capable of reading that kind of
data. If you need help determining what program can handle the extension,
post it here and someone may recognize it and have a suggestion.

If you received this file from a stranger, it would probably be better to
just delete the file without opening it. Very often these are malicious
files that could damage your Windows setup.

If the file was received from a friend, you could always ask them what kind
of file they sent you and what you should use to open it.

I do not know what icon in control panel you're referring to (there are
many) so can't comment on it.

What's the file extension ?
What's the email client you're using ?
What's the Service Pack level of your system ?
