Dammit. I have this motherboard:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00022505

And I just bought an older Socket 423 P4 1.5 ghz processor (1.7v dc).

It took me two seconds to realize I had purchased the wrong damn chip.
I've heard of adapters that let you use socket 478 processors on older
423 motherboards... but my situation is kinda reversed. I think I
might have to sell this $*$##$& chip.

Dammit.

Any advice appreciated.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Uhh.. return the chip and get the right one? Buy a new motherboard?
I've never seen an adapter like the one you're looking for, and I'm
not even sure if such a thing would be possible. if it is possible
than it's almost certain to cost more than a new processor anyway.
www.newegg.com carries a 2.4GHz Celeron for $77. That should work in
this board and, at the very least, should be a lot faster than that
1.5GHz P4.
