HELP

I unshared my workbook - now I can do the DATA,
VALIDATION, LIST (option) -- but how and where do I
connect a list to drop down - can you help me? Thank you

Hi Katherine

if the list is on another sheet you need to give it a name and use the name
to reference it
1) select your list
2) click IN the name box (little box to left of formula bar) and type the
name (no spaces, only underlines as a symbol, first character must be alpha)
and press ENTER
3) select the cells that you want to put validation on and choose data /
validation from the menu
4) choose list, click in the white line and press the F3 key - all the range
names in the workbook will be displayed, choose the name you created in step
2 and click OK
5) click Ok on the data / validation dialog box and check out the cell

I learned something new. Thought you had to type in =mydefinedname
