William

A friend of mine asked me to post this question.
Hopefully someone can help.

After setting up a network card and entering the tcip
information with an IP address and a sub mask along
with a dns server I closed the properties box and was
able to get onto the internet. After reopening the
properties box for the network card under tcip there
was no information as to what I had set in it. It was
set to default DHCP. For some reason the information
will not display under the properties for tcip. Can
anyone tell me why or how I can get it to keep the
settings?

Thanks,

R

I haven't seen this before, myself...but do you (or the
user) have rights on the system? (Admin rights or power
user....?)

If you go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all,
does it list the same IP, gateway and dns entries you
manually put in?

Yes I have admin rights on the system and when I go to a dos(command) line
the ipconfig is right.
I will lose the settings only some of the times when rebooting. But no
matter when I got to the network
settings it will say dhcp enabled and I have to re-enter the information.
