help!!!!

Okay, I've been on here earlier trying to get help with a
browser hijack (win-eto/here4search.com). It's never
resolved. I can't report the problem because of that
proxy server problem with the spyware sweeper that
everyone seems to have a problem with. It's deeper than
all that, trojan.Small is the problem, and it keeps
reinstalling itself. I can't report the problem because
of Microsoft's problem with it's own software. I had to
change my passwords and usernames because the browser-
redirect was a clone of Wells Fargo. I can't even copy
my files onto a CD to reinstall right now, because it
locks up. What do I do? I can't log onto any helpful
website because of the browser hijack, I can't dump onto
a cd, because it locks up, and microsoft, adaware, and
hijackthis can't help, what do I do? I'm tired of the
microsoft guys telling me to keep trying to send my
report because the servers are busy. Hey, after three
weeks of religously clickling, your servers are ****ed
up. It's not us. Click, click, click all we want. It's
****ed up. I can't do shit with my computer because of
the spyware. I was trying to report it weeks ago, but
couldn't because of my "proxy settings" now I can't even
offload my shit. You guys suck. Suck! I tried in Safe
mode several times--everything. Now I have to lose
everything--all my papers so I can use my computer again.
You people suck. Microsoft sucks. I thought your removal
tool was good until I realized that it's completely
inflexible

sudjestion dont be mad at microsoft because you installed
something with a 3rd party softwear. or you acidently
acepted a trogan virus thing off the internet. It probly
is your fault in the first place for makeing this
happen.
so I wouldn't go saying microsoft sucks just because of
your incompitent in running a computer.

What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

See
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.

Just do everyone a favor and format your hard drive and
sell your computer, People like you that are common sense
stupid should not own one.

Try This:

Download FxAgentB.exe from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4337 and save it to your desktop. After downloading, double-click the FxAgentB file to run it and the program will scan your entire hard drive - this may take a while. When it is done, it will generate a log file called FxAgentB.log - save that information as you will need to paste it here later. Reboot when done.

Next click http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. Reboot when done.

Then click http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Download and run SpyBot S&D http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html - update it first.
Delete everything in red it finds.
For help on setting AdAware and Spybot up - see this link:
http://www.cjwd.demon.co.uk/spybot-adaware.html

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

See if this helps...

Give em a break! I know what it feels like to become a
victim to viruses. Obiously this person isn't as
knoledgable with computers as you or I am but that gives u
no right to yell at them. I mean going 3 weeks with an
infected is pretty good. Even i cant contact Microsoft
with my problems with Messenger and I have a headache too.

try disabling system restore, I had a trojan that kept
installing and got this tip from mcafee. you will not
loss any thing so diable system restore clen you hrd
drive with what ever virus guard you have shut down your
computer and re check system restore and you should be ok

I'm the originator of this thread. I know what to do with
computers, I wanted to reformat, but it was so messed up,
I couldn't complete a cd-write even in safe mode. I
tried everything I could, and ended up swallowing the
loss of my papers from last semester. I did reformat. I
knew that's what I needed to do, but I thought their
spyware program would prevent something like this. It
doesn't bother me so much that it wouldn't, but that I
couldn't even report the problem. So, fix the problem
with spyware reporting so we can at least report things
lke this. Isn't that the purpose of a beta?

No tool can do everything.

You're certainly right that the report submission process doesn't work on a
great many machines in this beta version.

Torjan.small is a virus.

Are you running an antivirus application with current definitions? You need
both a firewall and antivirus running--Microsoft Antispyware does not
substitute for those protections.

Yes--part of the purpose of the beta is feedback. Thanks for posting yours,
and sorry that the product didn't provide the protection you expected.

BRAVO! Well said!

If you are not compitent enought to work the MSAS, then
you should call 866-727-2338, they have people there that
will help the comptuer ignorant people with small problems
such as these...

But to offer some help...

Download the MSAS Beta

Click Start

Click Run

Type MSCONFIG

Click the BootINI tab.

Under Boot options click SAFEBOOT.

Click OK, reboot the system, log on as administrator

Run the Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta in Safe mode
Once it runs once, reboot, run again to be sure it does
not find any problems. Once you have rebooted and it does
not find any problems

Go back into MSCONFIG take the check off of safeboot, and
reboot back into normal mode

Once in normal mode, open the MSAS and click on Advanced
Tools, then Browser Hijack Restore, click "check all",
then restore and done.

If these steps are too complicated for you, call the
number listed above.

Did you think to stick in a memory key and right click on
your papers and send to usb memory key?

I have no love for microsoft, but a clean computer from
the start can stay clean. Pay attention to what pops up
on your screen when you surf. Stay off the porn sites.
Stay off the cracking sites. Don't under any
cincumstances install Kazaa. Remember the computer should
be a tool. You want to screw around, play on your Xbox.
Society has been slowly brainwashed that the computer is
just a playtoy, where back in the day it was a tool.

Im the person who replyed first....

why did you go swearing in a forum post?

why did you say microsoft sucks?

if its a beta would't you expect that it wouldn't work
perfectly.

why not read the beta readme which says in lemans terms
"this is beta verry little suport help given"

oh and....

why not run an antivirus program to do an antivirus job!!!

and one more little thing...
have you ever thought of borowing a friends computer that
has an "antivirus" softwear installed and uptodate.
then slave your harddrive to it. and run a full scan of
your harddrive. to try and delet the infected files.

oh and if that doesn't work and your going to reformat
anyways....

partition your harddrive in 2 sections
section 1: operating system
section 2: important files want to keep

i myself have
section 3: games

this way you dont have to burn cd's every time you format.
yet im a gamer and format every 3 to 4 months anymore and
a system just slows down to much.

well with that good luck man.
