My installation and scanning went smoothly. However, as
soon as I start browsing again, the homepage is back
to "about blank" and popups are arriving once again.
There must be someone at Microsoft who can outsmart the
hackers. Microsoft, please help!
Ben,
Click Tools, Suspected Spyware Report, and submit it to Spynet.
If you can't wait for the definitions to be updated, advise you
to go to Folder Options in the Control Panel, click View, put a check
next to Show hidden files and folders, UNcheck Hide extensions for known
file types and Hide protected operating system files. Click Apply, then OK.
Scan the system with MSAS. When done reboot to Safe Mode:

Empty your <User> Temp folder by going to Start, Run, and typing in
%temp%
Click OK.
Now go to Internet Options in the Control Panel, click the Delete Files
button under Temporary Internet Files. Put a check in the box next to
Delete all offline content. Click OK.
Empty the Recycle Bin.
Scan once more. Reboot to Normal mode and scan once more.
