Can anyone help me out there?

I am running XP (Home addition) and installed Office
Professional XP early last year but Access did not run,
and at the time I was not concerned. Having de-installed
office, plus erased office10 directory, I then used Norton
System Works to erase any errors etc left in the system. I
have now installed Office Professional 2003 and I have the
same errors?

Access opens and waits for me to respond. I can ask to
open a blank database or any other 2003 template and I
receive on my screen "Microsoft Office Access has
encountered a problem & needs to close etc".

I have all the updates to Windows, Office, Norton, and
sent error report to Microsoft on many occasions but no
remedy.

Can anyone help!

First, understand that reporting an error does nothing
unless you have made some sort of arrangements to do so,
perhaps through a network. I never bothered to find out
the details, being somewhat cynical about the prospect for
Microsoft responding to actual user complaints and
problems. The way it should be set up is that the Send
Report to Microsoft window should appear only if the
mechanism for reporting an error is actually in place.
I'm done with my little rant now. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-
US;KBHOWTO (remove any line wrapping of the address that
occurs in your newsreader window), choose your product,
type the error message into the Search For window (through
the word "problem" will be plenty of the message).
Choose "Exact Phrase" in the next box, and click Go.
There should be several articles. See if one of them
applies to your situation.
