I need urgent help. My home computer runs on Windows 98. If I try to open any programme, whether it is Word/Excel/Power Point/Internet/anything a window pops up asking what programme do I want to run this on. If I choose a programme, the same window comes up again and again. I can't even create a start up disk as the same window comes up asking what programme do I want to open it with. I downloaded a Windows 98 boot disk from the Internet with the intention of formatting the hard drive but when I put the disk in and start the computer up, it comes up with a message saying that it is a non system disk. How do I go about trying to format the hard drive? I can't think of any other way of getting the computer back to normal.
