I have been trying to open a database I created with
Access 97 - the ONLY way I can open it is to open MS
Access 2000 and then click on the file name of the file I
want to open. I have an icon on my desktop with a shortcut
to the database and I'd like to continue to open the
database just by double clicking on that icon - NOT by
multiple steps. I cannot convert this database to Access
2000 and I don't want to have to recreate the wheel just
because MS decides to change their code.
Can anyone help me get this fixed so I can open this
database without having to open access 2000 FIRST and then
retrieving the database? When I try to click on the icon
it looks for MR1 or something like that. I tried to
install the patch recommended for 97 database problems in
2000 - BUT it tells me it is already installed. Does this
mean this is the BEST they can do to make this work?
