Like an idiot, I put my real email address in the sender's
email in this form, not knowing it would be posted to the
world. Now I am getting more spam then I can handle.
Anyone know how to get my email address off this newsgroup?

Alas, you can't. "This newsgroup" is distributed to tens of thousands
of computers all over the world, and archived on www.google.com and
other archive services. Some of these honor cancel requests but (due
to the frequency of forged cancels) most do not.

The milk has been spilled and there's no way to put it back in the
jug.

It's not a question of getting it off this newsgroup, unfortunately - it's a
question of getting it out of the spammers' databases, which is, of course,
impossible.

Spammers use software to automatically scan newsgroups looking for e-mail
addresses, which they then add to their databases - and some of them sell
those databases to other spammers. Once that happens, there's not much you
can do other than get another e-mail address.

The e-mail address I use in newsgroup posts like this one has always
received plenty of spam. With the current spate of virus-carrying e-mails,
it gets so many (several hundred a day) that I've been forced to create an
Outlook rule that deletes any message to that address from a sender who is
not in my contact list. Fortunately, I have other addresses that I do *not*
use in newsgroup posts.

Now you know why regular usenet users hate spammers! :-(
