Zin

Maybe one of you can help me out, as I have never come
across this problem:
I loaded the game, everything went smooth. After it was
complete, I hit the play tab. It connected to Microsoft
Autoupdate and I got the following message:
Please insert Asheron's Call 2 disc 1 into drive E:

This is fine and dandy, except, my drive E: is actually my
hard drive. My cd-rom is drive D: I put disc 1 in anyway
and hit the ok tab, and nothing happens. I've been stuck
on this for a week, and any help would be appreciated.
Oh, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times,
and I have a high-end system. I tried changing the drive
letter, but since it is a boot volume, it isn't possible.
How do I get the message to tell me to insert a cd into
Drive D:? Thanks!

Hi Zin,

I would browse your registry, to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games, and in the AC2 key look
for a reference to your E: drive, and chance that to D:. HTH! :-)

Well, I never thought to do that, but it didnt work. I
tried this for over 10 minutes. :) It had cd path already
pointing to D:, and any other references to E" drive were
changed to D:. I still got the same message. Friggin wierd
eh? I desperately need to find the solution, and I
appreciate you taking the time to help me!
