I'm having problems with the sharing between the user
account set up on windows xp, I have recently installed
it and I have six different user accounts i have noticed
even though we have seperate logging on accounts, other
user are still getting into my personal documents and are
also able to remove and delete my user details, when I
download prgrams which are only for my use into the
computer i find that it also is in their account to and
they are able to delete it and change details in it. I
was wonering if you would be able to tell me a way of
being able to ban them from my account downloads and
documents????
If so this would be a great help,
thankyou.

Natalie,
If you drive is set up as FAT32, you can not do this with the purchase of some
3rd party software.

If you are concerned about the privacy of your files, then you need to make sure
that the hard drive is formatted with the NTFS file system. If you are running
XP Home, then the only folder that you will be able to make private is the
current user's account folder (i.e. Documents and Settings\<user name>).

If you want to be more restrictive as to what folders|files are marked as
private, then you need to have XP Pro. It allows you to set up any/all folders
with different privileges|restrictions.
