I have an issue creating CD backups from Quicken. I
understand there is a known issue here and there are
several work-arounds. When I do attempt to backup from
Quicken, I receive an icon stating "Files are ready to be
written to the CD" and I am prompted to click the bubble
to view those files. My issue is that once I click the
bubble. I am simply taken to My Computer window and all I
see is the directory path on my CD. I do not see an
option for "CD Wrting Tasks" which I understand I should
see. Now when I shut down, I consistently get a message
that Explorer.exe is not responding and needs to be shut
down. When I boot up, I get the same icon at the bootom
of the screen indicating "Files are ready to be written
to the CD" How do I get out of this cycle?

XP's rudimentary CD Recording program does not permit backing up data
directly to a CD. You must create a new folder on your hard drive, perform
a backup to that folder, then record the contents of that folder to a CD.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: CD RECORDING , and hit enter.
The click on the topic titled: "Copy Files and Folders to a CD".

Mike,
Recommend that you check system system services that deal with CD reading or
writing to see if any have been disabled. To do this: Start/Run/ type "cmd"
(less quotes) and click "OK". In the next Window, type services.msc and
press the keyboard "Enter" key. For a bunch of help with Windows Services,
