after upgrading from windows me to xp. I can no longer
open these files. It says files unable to open. thanks

Did you run a repair for Word and Excel after the upgrade? Slightly
different files are installed for Office programs running in XP than those
that are running in Windows ME. If no luck with a repair, try a reinstall
of the programs. For further assistance with this, visit one of the Office
