I wonder if any one can help with a slight problem I have with Word
2002.

It came with my computer about 2 years ago in Works Suite 2003.
The problem is that I cannot copy and paste from another program if
Word is running and sitting on the taskbar. If Word is not running,
and I copy a program and then start Word, paste is grayed out.

I think, but am not certain that it worked o.k when I first got the
computer. I have removed Word 2000 from the computer and reinstalled
Word 97 from an old computer, and that doesn't have the same problem.
Paste is showing whether I have the program running or not. Would SP2
be the cause of the problem? as when I got the computer it wasn't
available.

Hoping someone can say if I have a problem or not.

Thanks

Hi,
If I read your message correctly- that Word has to be open for Paste to be
available, this may help.

"It is caused by the Works Add-In for Word, which can be uninstalled
easily through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs "

The Works add-in reportedly clears the clipboard when Word opens.

Hope this helps,
Don
