Hello.

I have set up a wireless network with my 2 Windows XP Home machines (Desktop
and Laptop).
I purchased a Linksys Wireless B Router, and a Wireless B PC Card (11Mbps)
for my laptop. I have a DSL connection also. I have them set up right now
to share the DSL connection fine. My problem is setting them up to share
files and the Printer (which is setup on the Desktop).

Here is what I have done so far:
I ran the Home Networking Wizard on both machines. Named each machine
(DESKTOP & LAPTOP) and each machines workgroup name is the same (WORKGROUP).
Once I ran the wizard on each macine it ends it by setting Finish and all
set to share files, except it is not!!! :-)

Can someone point me in the right direction on what to do. I went through
all of the stuff that came with the Linksys products but it does not clarify
what to do. There web site has been no help either.

Thank you in advance.

Go to the cmd prompt and type "ipconfig" and see if you
have an IP address and subnet mask for either computer
showing up..192.168.0.1 for an ip address (192.168.0.2 on
the 2nd machine) and 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask
(the same set for both machines)if they exist you can use
the "ping" command to see if they are recieving signal.
to set the ip address go to lac1/properties scroll down
to tcp/ip click properties and add the info..
