Just recently normal sized JPG's on my desktop in the viewer built into
windows are taking a long time to display, the program will come up fine,
the picture however can take 2 minutes before displaying...

Is there some kind of picture cache or something I can clear to remedy this
problem?

and the JPGs are small in size, this happens if the pic is 30k or 5mb it
doesnt matter...

Anything I can do to get this going the way it was?

Try running disk cleanup, all options.
Start / Programs / Accessories / System / Disk Cleanup.

Also, it may be helpful to run Error Checking and Defrag.
Go to...My Computer...and right click the icon for your
hard drive...probably...Local Disk (C:)...choose Properties /
Tools tab...you'll find both options.

If Error Checking finds lots of problems, you need to run
it again. I always run it on my machine until it runs without
finding any problems. Once that is complete...run Defrag.

Good luck.
