help with windows mail

with all my another mail programs can i still receive mail when the program
is closed...i still got a little icon down in the bottem that tells me that i
have mail...Know i got vista on my computer ..is it possible for windows mail
that i can reseice messages without opening the the window...
sorry for my bad english...i hope you know what i mean

No, Windows Mail has to be running in order to receive mail.
But you can minimize it.
