Steve Howard

I've asked many times in this newsgroup and
others how I can determine what is keeping IE6
from starting.

When I launch IE6 it gives no errors or windows and
I can see IExplorer as a process. I do not get any
windows of any kind.

I've tried HijackThis and trying to find any events
in the event viewer that might give me an idea of
what is going on in IE6.

I do have Visual Studio, is there a way I can use it's
debuggers to see what IE6 is trying to Load and perhaps
finding why IE6 will not start up?

IE6 will start sometimes as another user so that's why I
suspect a plug-in or similar is keeping IE6 from starting
up. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Have you tried creating a new User profile to see if it helps with the
problem? You might try it. Just backup all the files and such for the User
with the problem, then delete the User profile and create a new one. Then
see if the problem still exists. That will at least let you know it is not
a problem with the profile itself. Narrows the troubleshooting.

Hope this helps

Yes, as I said before IE6 works with another profile. This leads me to
believe some plug-in or whatnot is causing he IE6 failure. For this reason
I've been looking for a way to debug IE6 to perhaps see what is causing
IE6 from coming up properly.

Thanks,

Steve
