I have purchased the Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard and I have not
been about to get my mind around the setting up of the IDE ports.
I am guessing that the IDE ports are ready to use by default but I am
not sure. All that I want to do at this time is to connect my 2 hard
drives and 2 CR-Rom drives to the Pri-IDE and the Sec-IDE ports so
that I can do this rebuild. It wont matter if the SATA ports are
active as well as long as it does not cause an error not having
anything connected to them.
I will be using Windows XP Home with this setup,
I plan on doing major upgrades around October which will include an FX
AGP card and SATA drives and a 17" TFT MONITOR, but I have not decided
on which processor I will get, maybe the Prescott if they do release
it for the Socket 478.
Appreciate any help you can offer.
