I am on Step 10 of 24 in the CIW. I am trying to just configure
setting for Outlook 2003. The problem I'm having, I can't find any
documentation about this step. I'm looking at about 500+ options to
configure, and I cannot find any documentation that tells you what each
option is, or what each option will affect. Any help or suggestions
would be greatly appreciated!!!

The options on CIW Screen 10 largely duplicate those in the Tools | Options
dialog in Outlook and the other Office programs, so the Help files in each
application can help you understand what each option does.

I'd leave them alone unless you know that you have a particular reason to
change a setting from its default value.

You can also just ask here about any that intrigue you.

Thanks Sue for the response!

I do have a couple questions. Under AutoArchive>Retention Settings,
turning this setting off will not prevent the Retention Settings that
the Exchange Admin might have set, correct?

And under Exchange Settings>Cached Exchange low bandwidth threshold,
what would be a recommended setting? What is the default setting?
What does it look at to detirmine the current bandwidth? I was
thinking about setting this at 64K so any dial-up connections would be
considered "low-bandwidth", but was questioning some of the things
above.

Thanks again,
Cameron

If you disable a policy setting, then any machines that had that policy
before will lo longer have it. Those particular retention settings are not
related to Mailbox Manager but are instead applied when the user runs
AutoArchive.

128 is the default. I'm not sure how Outlook factors in network latency as
well as bandwidth. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870926 and
http://www.microsoft.com/office/outlook/prodinfo/enabling.mspx for more
information.
