Help with slow running and problematic computer

My husband and I have different user profiles on our computer. Mine runs with
no problems and his runs very slow. I've done multiple virus/spyware scans as
well as defrags and disk cleanups and deleted programs that neither one of us
use. Nothing has worked. Then last night it started typing all of the letter
twice in a row i.e. type would come out ttyyppee rendering our computer
useless. He tried to pull up something on a floppy and apparantly now it
won't let us access the A: drive.

I'm at my wits end with this computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Laura, I have a similar problem except it runs slow on all the user profiles.
Isn't there a command that can be run that shows all the programs that load
upon startup? And I mean the progams outside the Startup group. Thanks.

I just found the answer to my own question in another post. At Start, Run
type "msconfig".

I will try that tonight. Have you ever run into the typing issue at all? That
aggravates me the most.

I will try those tonight. He installs things all the time that I end up
having to go through and delete so he may very well have done that. What is
the on-screen keyboard?

In the run box type or paste, %SystemRoot%\system32\osk.exe , or click start,
all programs, accessories, accessibility, on-screen keyboard.. It allows an
impaired or physically challenged individual using just a mouse to type in
characters, instead of using the actual keyboard to do so..
