I have tried everything I have seen here, and Jimmy S. I went to your site
and tried almost all your suggestions (the ones that might apply) and still
nada! I can play the sims2 with no problems at all but when i go to start the
Body shop I get an error from Direct3d (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL) then it
terminates. Any ideas? I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the game,
drivers, directx, etc. Grrrr. I love the Sims but I am starting to not like
my new laptop. Thanks.

Hi Hhoky,

Unfortunately, unless you have a really high end laptop, most
laptops do not meet these strict requirements for Sims 2:

For the list of graphic cards supported by SIMS 2:

Thanks JimmyS your a doll. Yea I finally got a response from Intel "we are
aware of the problem with the 915gm/gms - 910gml chipset family . However we
have no patch for this problem yet. Wait time unestimatable, we are sorry for
the inconvience, We have other display devices avalible if your interested in
purchasing a new one...." Well fat lot of help that was. Oh well guess I
either wait or go spend more money on a computer I just bought.
Anyway thanks for your help. You are the bomb when it comes to this kinda
stuff. Keep up the good work Superman of the Comp world. :)

Hi Hhoky,

Thank you for the compliment of the year! :-)
I'm sorry that your laptop isn't up to par with the requirements,
if it's any consolation, I'm in the exact same boat with my Dell.
