Hello, one more question from me today (possibly more later :-)

I have set up a wireless network with my 2 Windows XP Home machines (Desktop
and Laptop).
I purchased a Linksys Wireless B Router, and a Wireless B PC Card (11Mbps)
for my laptop. I have a DSL connection also. I have them set up right now
to share the DSL connection fine. My problem is setting them up to share
files and the Printer (which is setup on the Desktop).

Here is what I have done so far:
I ran the Home Networking Wizard on both machines. Named each machine
(DESKTOP & LAPTOP) and each machines workgroup name is the same (WORKGROUP).
Once I ran the wizard on each macine it ends it by setting Finish and all
set to share files, except it is not!!! :-)

Can someone point me in the right direction on what to do. I went through
all of the stuff that came with the Linksys products but it does not clarify
what to do. There web site has been no help either.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Adam,

To share your files/drives you'll need to go into "My
Computer" and right click on the drive or folder that you
want to share and click on sharing. Pretty simple to do.

To share you printer, go into "Printers and Faxes" and
right click the printer and again click on sharing.

If for some reason the share device option is not
available then you'll need to go in to properties of your
lan connection (Right click on "My Network Places", click
properties, then right click on the "Local Area
Connection" device and again click properties and see
if "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks"
driver is installed. If it isn't then you'll need to
install it.

Hope this helps,

Larry

Sorry..I should have mentioned that I did that already and have two folders
shared on each computer. It is when I click on say the laptop to see the
desktop that nothing happens. They dont seem to be seeing each other.

Use Map Network Drive on the laptop to see the shared folder/drive on the
desktop. Also to use the printer on the desktop from the laptop you will
need to install the printer driver on the laptop as a network drive.
