Help with Security Risk

Hi everyone,

I've found 2 Very High Security Risks on my computer: MS05-009 and MS06-005.

I have tried everything to get rid of these two things, have downloaded all
the "removers" I can find on Microsoft and the "risks" are still there.

Any suggestions apart from trashing my computer.

How did "you" find them? In other words, which program found them?

What other information were you given? Please post it verbatim. What
may look unimportant to you can be the key to the whole problem.

At the outset you should know that a lot of anti-malware programs, if
not actively malicious themselves, tend to exaggerate the seriousness
of threats. Sometimes they even report "false positives", things that
aren't actually threats.

Sounds like you're flailing. It's understandable, but still bad.
Downloading and running randomly selected programs is not likely to
fix things, any more than kicking your TV when the picture is bad.
 
Hi and thank you for pointing out what is required.

I'm running Windows XP with Trend PC Cillin as my virus & spyware program.

It was Trend PC Cillin which found these two "risks". The downloads to
"eradicate" the threat was from the Microsoft site, as recommended by them
only.

The check said "Security Check found known Microsoft Security
vulnerabilities on your computer"

I ran another secuity check today and the only "vulnerability" appearing is
MS05-009.
