Gunny, can you help me?
I have struggled with the securities since the last time we chatted. What I
am running into now is that:
I have one main switchboard, on the switchboard is:
Operators
Supervisors
What I need to do is lock out the Operators from seeing what the supervisors
see... and when I set up the Permissions on the switchboard through the built
in security, it gives the Operators rights to the Supervisors stuffies,
because of them having permissions to that darn switchboard.
I am going to have to write in vb the securties hugh?
Thanks for your help with this
Christy
PS that is a gorgeous automobile!

Hi, Christy.
What I need to do is lock out the Operators from seeing what the supervisors
see... and when I set up the Permissions on the switchboard through the built
in security, it gives the Operators rights to the Supervisors stuffies,
because of them having permissions to that darn switchboard.

If I understand your setup correctly, you have a switchboard form with
buttons that open forms and reports, but you'd like to limit which of those
forms and reports are opened, depending upon which group the user is a
member of. Is this correct?

If so, then one can limit the forms and reports opened by each user by
assigning Open/Run permissions to the group allowed to open these forms and
reports. The other group should not have Open/Run (or higher) permissions
assigned for these forms and reports.

Also, ensure that the Users group doesn't have any of these permissions that
are intended only for the Supervisors. All users are members of the Users
group by default, so if the Users group has Open/Run permissions on these
forms and reports, _all_ users will be able to open them, regardless of the
permissions assigned to other groups the users belong to.

Please post back if I have misunderstood or generalized your setup too much,
or if you have any further questions.
PS that is a gorgeous automobile!

Thanks!

HTH.

Good Morning
It could be that I have the "Users" still with permissions I will go in and
check this out. Thank You for your assistance, have a great week.
Christy

It did not work... I went in and changed to group "users" permissions to
access the database information in the same manner as the Operators, and it
still allowed me to access everything within the db... Arg.
Its not allowing me to create passwords for anyone but the administrator...
think that has something to do with it?
