Anyone have any good suggestions on how to undo a block in the registry under
HKeyCurrentUser/Software/Local App Wiz Gen App concerning
Macromedia/FlashPlayer?

I used to be able to just go in and delete the registry entries, now I can't
in this specific area of the registry. I can, however, delete entries for
Macromedia in HKeyLocalMachine/Software.

How can I keep Macromedia from installing programs/files without my knowledge?

I am using a Dell Dimension 4300S with Windows XP (Home)...if that helps.

Thanks

To "unblock" the registry key you have to "Take Ownership", just
change the permissions.

To disable the Adobe Flash Player autoupdate, create a
UTF-8 text file, name it mms.cfg, add this line:

AutoUpdateDisable=1

(carriage return after =1) and copy to:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash\
