Hi there,

I need help with recovery console !
A computer tech as leave our Cie and we are not able to access
recovery console due to a password protection.
We have to replace a system file damaged
- See KB 823614

I've try many things found on the internet but nothing resolve the problem.
- Boot with Win2K CD
- Boot with a Win98 Disk

My next step in to reinstall XP but ...

Is somebody knows a better way ?

Thanks

Console in Windows XP

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going edit

Thanks but ...
When you have the problem as mentionned in KB 823614,
you cannot access XP registry because XP don't start at all.
