help with realtek AC97 audio

I cannot seem to find a mic in my windows xp home sp computer.

I tried testing the hardware program and my voice doesn't register at all.

what dO I need to do?

Check your sound settings in control panel - Sound Devices and Settings -
Sound Tab - Under Recording - Sound Settings. Make sure Microphone is
selected.
