Help with Outlook BCM - Column formatting and Groups

I am using Outlook 2007 with BCM.

I have 2 questions... Please help if you can

1. I am made a few custom views in BCM and everytime I try and format a
column width it defaults back to the original size which does not fit the
data. I have tried defining the views and using the format column button
and everytime it resets to the original size.

2. What is the purpose and/or how do you use the groups in BCM. I have
created a group and really do not understand how it works. The groups that
come standard are My contacts and Business Contact Manager (when you are in
BCM they are the bars on the left side of teh screen that when you right
click they sat remove or rename group)

Anything anyone can do to help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah, this is very stupid... I've been irritated too.
Finally I found that custom views will retain if you edit them via menu
View->Current View->Define Views : and there you select required view and
press "Modify button" - and only then this bloody customized view will
retain. If you go through shorter "Customize" menu - then all changes are
lost on closing of a view.
 
I have tried this and still it doesn't retain my changed view. Is this an
inherent problem with BCM?
