I'm at my wits end trying to get this network up and running. The host
computer is running windows 2000 and has two NIC's installed and the client
is running XP with one NIC. I have it setup so that the cable modem is
connected to one NIC, and the other is hooked up to the switch, then a cable
runs from the switch to the client and can I hell get them to see each other
or connect to the Internet.

Many thanks

Kevin

on the windows 2000 machine you need to configure ICS ( Internet Connection
sharing) check the windows Help on how to do it
let me know if you need more help

Can the 2k machine connect to the internet? If so, is internet connection
sharing on that machine enabled and setup? If that is the case, does the XP
machine use the 2k machine as its default gateway?

If the answers to any of those questions don't point you in the right
direction, go to a command prompt on each machine and type in "ipconfig
/all" and display the results here, someone should be able to help you
further.
