Help with .MOV format

I am trying to put together video of my daughter's graduation. I used my
aunts camera a Kodak Share???. The video is in .MOV format. The following
is the error message I get when trying to import into Windows Movie Maker:

F:\DCIM\100KZ760\100_0441.MOV could not be imported.

Can anyone help?????

As you have discovered, .mov files are
not compatible with Movie Maker.

The full retail version of Apple QuickTime
can convert the files to the .avi format..

The camera produces QuickTime movies, which apparantly Windows Movie Maker
can't import. As others will mention, you need to convert to some form of
AVI. No doubt there are several freeware MOV-to-AVI converters if you
Google. eRightSoft SUPER comes to mind. I've used it in the past for other
conversion operations and it seemed to work fairly well. Or, you could buy
QuickTime Pro from Apple. It works fairly well for conversion or encoding,
and is quite cheap. It is extraordinarily clunky for editing, though it can
be done. If you just want to do conversion, I'd say go with SUPER.

I've heard QuickTime Alternative mentioned, and just looking at it on the
Web, it looks like it can only play, but not encode.

There are lots of freeware products to convert to AVI however my advice would
be to invest in a better video making product. Such as Video Studio that
handles all types of video and can be used to burn you movies onto CD using
DVD and SVCD format for playback using DVD players.

Personally, I use Premiere Pro, but it's a bit of a stretch to recommend
that to someone using Windows Movie Maker.
 
You can try to convert mov to other video especially such as, avi, wmv
format with VidLogo. You can find it in a Google.
