I'm just setting up a new computer (WinXP Pro) and have got round to
creating mail rules.

However when I open the 'Message Rules' and go to 'Where the from line
contains people'
and click on 'contains people', I have the following problem:
I can type in the box, however the space bar does not work.

There are three people on the PC, we all have administrator privileges and
only two of the accounts have this problem.
I cannot find any difference between the accounts.

Has anyone seen this problem, I would really appreciate a solution.

TIA
Derek

What does it matter as email addresses can't have spaces in them? So while you should be able to type a space there is no reason to type one there.

That maybe true but my space bar works so I guess he would like to find out
why his doesnt.

Good point (I never thought of that)..... however, I've re-checked and it
doesn't work in any of the boxes ?
ie. Where the subject line contains... etc

That's bad news isn't it. It;s an edit control like every other one on your computer. It handles the space not OE. Therefore one would expect all or nothing. Also it's hard to see a virus deciding to prevent spaces being typed. Check that other edit boxes work. The Property's page for any file Edit box that contains the name. Can you type there.
