To get the hotfix, you must do as the article states and contact Microsoft
Product Support. There are no charges for hotfixes as long as you ask for no
other support, but you must contact them for it. There is no other way, nor
should you trust any copies from anything other than the official source.

windows knowledge base article 330089 explains that some self-extracting
programs may not run after sp1 is installed. i cannot install the scanner
drivers for my xerox xk35c because the self-extracting program freezes. can
anyone get the microsoft patch that fixes this problem for me? please
