help with import audio problem

I'm having no problem importing the file itself, until i try and play it.
Its a 7:10 length song and its is displayed as a 22:32 minutes ?!?!?!?!?!?!
Sure, if i start at the beginning its works right but as soon as i move the
timeline it goes to an obscure part of the song. Its so frustrating because
anytime i get a downbeat on time i find out it wasnt the right part of the
song etc. I can get the beginning down but how can i do the end if the sound
wont tell me where it is correctly

i'm so distressed :(
 
This seems to be an issue a lot lately and unfortunately we don't seem to
have a good answer for it as of yet.
If it is an MP3 then convert it to WMA or WAV and that should solve the
problem.
If it is already a WMA or WAV, which is where the problem gets harder to
diagnose, then it is probably a problem with the clip itself. You could try
converting it from one to the other (WAV->WMA or WMA->WAV) and see if that
does the trick.Unfortunately it is hard to figure out exactly what the
problem is for me because I haven't been able to duplicate it.
