Hi,

Am trying to achieve better scans by turning colour management off in
Nikon Scan 4 and then assigning the scanner profile to the scanned
image in PS7 before finally converting it to Adobe RGB colour profile.

BUT - the list of colour profiles presnted to me in PS7 does not
include one for my coolscan V. For some reason there is one for a
coolscan IV, even though I have never owned or used one. Why don't any
colour profiles show up for the Coolscan V in PS7?

I am trying to scan this way because scans with Nikon colour
management on and using the Adobe RGB space often have a green or blue
colour cast (and I'm not using Kodachrome)...

Any advice welcome!

For a look at the Nikon profiles available, check out the properties of the
*icm* profiles in the following folders:
c:\windows\system\color
c:\program files\common files\nikon\profiles

If you can't find any specific to the CoolScan V, it may be that it uses
the same profile as the IV (LS40). I have the LS40, and it uses the some of
the same profiles as the LS4000...
